What is the Redlands Promise?

You’ve worked hard to make a college career possible. We’re working hard to make personalized education affordable, accessible, and achievable.

Full-tuition guarantee

As an admitted high school senior from California with a 3.5 GPA or higher who meets income qualifications to be eligible for a Cal Grant you will receive a scholarship that covers full tuition in 2025-26. And we guarantee you'll graduate in four years or less.

  1. Domestic students who start as first-year undergraduates in the College of Arts and Sciences during the 2025-26 school year.
  2. Those registered as full-time students (12 or more credits).
  3. Those who have a 3.5 recalculated GPA (academic weighted 10-12 GPA).
  4. Those who meet income qualifications: $131,200 or less for a family of four
  5. Those who qualify for the Cal Grant A.
  6. Residents of California.
  7. Complete the appropriate financial aid forms by March 2, 2025.
    1. Domestic students: FAFSA (U of R school code: 001322)
    2. Undocumented students living in California: California Dream Act application

1. Your total tuition costs for the initial school year will be covered by gift aid (grants and scholarships).

2. Your total grant amount for years 2-4 will remain constant at the tuition level from the first year.

Cal Grant awards are subject to the State of California budget. At this time, we are including estimated Cal Grant awards in financial aid offers for students who qualify under both the old and new Cal Grant requirements.

The cost of fees, room, board, books, and supplies.

Note that this does not apply to students who qualify under the E3 entitlement. The E3 entitlement is specifically for students transferring from a community college to a UC or Cal State. You can find more information about your Cal Grant award at http://mygrantinfo.csac.ca.gov/.

$17.5K tuition guarantee

As an admitted high school senior from California with a 3.0 GPA or higher, you’ll pay no more than $17.5K for tuition in 2025-26 - that's the average tuition cost of our local UCs. And we guarantee you'll graduate in four years or less. 

  1. Domestic students who start as first-year undergraduates in the College of Arts and Sciences during the 2025-26 school year.
  2. Those who are registered as full-time students (12 or more credits).
  3. Those with a 3.0 recalculated GPA (academic weighted 10-12 GPA).
  4. Those who complete the appropriate financial aid forms by March 2, 2025.
    1. Domestic students: FAFSA (U of R school code: 001322)
    2. Undocumented students living in California: California Dream Act application
  5. Those who have a total family Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) below $300,000 for the 2023 tax year as reported on the FAFSA.

Your total tuition costs for the initial school year will not exceed $17,500 after all gift aid (grants and scholarships) has been applied to your account.

Your total grant amount for years 2-4 will remain constant at the level from your first year.

The cost of fees, room, board, books, and supplies.

Grants and scholarships include all state, federal, and institutional awards.

Total grant amount assumes no change in state or federal grant money. The University of Redlands will not make up any loss of federal or state grant money in years 2-4. The total grant amount also does not account for any increases in tuition in years 2-4.

$25K in '25

As an out-of-state admitted high school senior with a 3.0 GPA or higher, you’ll pay no more than $25K for tuition in 2025-26. And we guarantee you'll graduate in four years or less.

  1. Domestic students who start as first-year undergraduates in the College of Arts and Sciences during the 2025-26 school year.
  2. Those who are registered as full-time students (12 or more credits).
  3. Those who have a 3.0 recalculated GPA (academic weighted 10-12 GPA).
  4. Those who complete appropriate financial aid forms by March 2, 2025.
    1. Domestic students: FAFSA by March 2, 2025 (U of R school code: 001322).
    2. Undocumented students living in the United States, not in California: U of R's 2024-25 Financial Aid Worksheet (contact admissions@738628.com or sfs@738628.com to request worksheet).

Your total tuition costs for the initial school year will not exceed $25,000 after all gift aid (grants and scholarships) has been applied to your account.

Your total grant amount for years 2-4 will remain constant at the level from your first year.

The cost of fees, room, board, books, and supplies.
